Hall Bench

A good hall bench is not just a piece of material that you bump your toe on every now and then.  It is a welcoming area and can serve as a focal point, especially in a long, dark hallway.  The right hall bench is one that is narrow enough for easy passage by the people that must walk down the hall but wide enough to allow for comfortable sitting from time to time.  In some families, the hall bench serves as the area for the putting on or taking off of shoes outside of the bedroom, while for others, it may be a great place to put kid’s backpacks and other items before they leave for school in the morning.  It may also serve the same purpose for adults who can put their needed items on the bench in the evening to save some of the hustle and bustle of a busy morning.

A hall bench is a versatile piece of furniture.  It can be placed in your hallway as a standard furniture item or set aside as a standby piece for times of need.  There are always times when you may have extra guests or friends, and having a hall bench nearby is a great advantage.

Hall benches can be backless, or they can come with backrests and even armrests.  They can be upholstered and also have storage capacity.  They can contain cabinets and drawers with drop pulls, making them look like treasure chests.  The best part of having hall benches is that they are slim and perform the function of seating and storage without blocking the hallway.

It’s difficult to find furniture for a narrow hall or passage.  You can’t afford to block the area and at the same time, having some seating there may be useful. A bench seat is a good solution to this problem. It won’t take up too much space and will provide seating for putting on shoes or just relaxing for a moment when you come back home. A bench seat with built in storage is useful for storing all the little things that tend to collect in these areas.
