An outdoor bench is a must have if you have a patio or a lawn. However, before buying outdoor benches, you must keep in mind certain things. First, they must be weather resistant. Second, they must blend with your surroundings and with your existing patio furniture.
An outdoor bench made of teak or cedar will last a long time. Pine may not stand up to wet and snowy weather, since it does not contain as much oil as teak. It would therefore have to be sealed, oiled and stained often. Limestone, marble and granite benches are the best for landscaped gardens, as they can blend with the earthy surroundings. Bluestone looks good around swimming pools.
