Park benches are no longer just for the park.

Park benches look great in many gardens and yards, but there are some especially unique designs that create a distinctive element in your outdoor design.  Modern park bench designs look great in contemporary gardens.  They tend to incorporate geometrical shapes and sleek, simple materials like unpainted woods and metals.  Unusual shapes are more common in these modern designs.  These contrast more traditional designs, which are either a simple slat and base setup or slats backed by an elaborate wrought or cast iron piece.  Most park benches have an overall simple, sturdy construction, making them easy to care for and long lasting.  Park benches look great in both public and private outdoor spaces and can even add a quirky aspect to your indoor space.  Some creative decorators have salvaged old park benches and turned them into planters or sculptures, or refurbished them to be used as seating once again.  Other park benches are constructed out of unusual materials, like recycled metals or concrete pieces.  This works well in a garden with an overall sustainable or “green” theme.  Whatever your style preferences, there are many options in park benches that are available to the average consumer, including some very creative designs.
